VOLVI LAKE
Lake Volvi is the second largest lake in Greece. Its surface covers 68 km2 (sq km) and its maximum depth reaches 22.3 meters. It is located at the roots of the Halkidiki peninsula between the municipalities of Volvi and Lagada. Access to the lake is possible through the settlement of Mikri Vovli and the coastal baths of New Apollonia where there are homonymous Therapeutic springs. It has rich fish species in its waters, with 24 different species of fish, and is one of the 11 Greek wetlands protected by the Ramsaar Treaty.
ALSOS ARISTOTELI
In the birthplace of the great Greek philosopher Aristotle, ancient Stagira is the only theme park in Halkidiki, the Aristotle’s Grove. The park is located at an altitude of 500 meters and overlooks the bay of Ierissos.
The grove, in which Aristotle’s statue has been in existence since 1956, was fitted with interactive instruments such as a lens, compass, sundial, pentaphone, pendulum, hydrofoil, telescope, optical discs, inertia balls and mirrors. The natural laws referred to in Aristotle’s writings apply to these institutions.

THE BARBAR FALLS

AGIA MARINA
The post-Byzantine church of Agia Marina Modi is located at 75 km of the old Thessaloniki Kavala highway. It is built at the beginning of the lush valley of the Macedonian Tempi near Lake Volvi. Architecturally the rhythm is a Byzantine single-aisled dome. The masonry and slate-covered dome blend in with the surrounding natural environment. The Agia Marina festival takes place every July 17.
